Will this game still be free update by update, or does 'Free Demo' imply there's paid access via patreon? Really enjoyed this game a year or two back and wondering what I'll need to do to play more of it <3 KUTGW!!!

Yeah thats pretty much it. Though for this update specifically I'm planing to drop it immediatly for everyone if we hit the treatment funding goal
