After some 180 hours of playtime and seeing most of the (known) endings, I have many thoughts about this game. Few of those would be useful to someone on this page, so I’ll mention only a few things.

First: certain story paths end in a cliffhanger, leading to an Act 2 that isn’t implemented yet. The game is up-front about this (think Digital Devil Saga) but does leave significant narrative promises unfulfilled. I believe this is fair to know for anyone considering a purchase, and not a spoiler.

Second: despite the above and some technical jank, this is legitimately a top-tier classic dungeon crawler. It is on par with any of the DS-era SMT or EO games from Atlus. It’s full of constant mysteries and surprises for the player, on every level.

It is absolutely worth the $20 asking price, and I say this as someone initially very skeptical. The ride is wild, even when you’re stuck and have no idea how to progress.

Note: I started on version 1.6.3 and finished on 1.7, played mostly blind
