this was so touching, i love the bittersweet hopefulness and conclusion of finding beauty even in sadness. so cute, too; this reminded me a lot of some of the best picture books i used to read to my students when i was a teacher- the kind of thing that really gets to and stays with you as an adult, too. (which i hope doesn't feel like a condescension- i mean it very highly!) the art with the stars and skaia was my favorite and nearly made me cry, in a good way.
