This cracked me right up and then shattered me. Sylvia's a mess, Clover's a different kind of mess, I think their dynamic is hilarious, the facial expressions are top notch (holy shit Sylvia's stupid fucking grin is so good)... and I think this does really capture the pain, the social marginalization, the shame associated with being transgender that so often gets tied up in the shame associated with kink, with the physical and emotional scars left by trauma.
I think the sentiment that really got me was the notion that as much as it hurts not having been a little girl, having been one might have hurt even worse. Like I can just point to a very specific section of my life and be like. Holy shit, I know I know hell but that would have been double hell.
