Do u use Firefox?
I am using Opera GX with Google Chrome core (as in the underlying browser is running Chrome)
i have now tried to open it in in incognito tab and for whatever reason it worked. very peculiar. still doesnt work in a non incognito tab.
Thanks for detail, can u screen logs in devtools(f12) after pressing "New Game" button?
all f12 did is put an arrow on the left side of new game and make the button outline green

Don’t worry. Try pressing Ctrl + Shift + I, then go to the ‘Console’ tab and see what appears there when you click ‘New Game’.
a very large amount of ">GET [some gibberish I can't understand] 404 (Not Found)"
Reading the giberish i think it is failing to get the visual and audio recouces or smth
