To be honest, I didn’t understand what I had to do. I tried to catch fish, get money, and go to the store, but all I did was get blinded by the bloom effect there)

Hi!
You can play with either Gamepad or KB&M.
(for short explanation Right Clic Button = RCB & Left Clic Button = LCB)
To Fish:
- Hold 'Right Trigger' (RCB or RT) to start casting your rod. A line will appear that indicates where it will be thrown.
- Once you are ready, release it. (Or you can press Left Trigger | LCB as well) Pressing again once its thrown will cancel the throw. If it's an invalid surface, the hook will bounce back.
- Once it's thrown, near a Fish (3D model silhoettes) which are located in shores, lakes and rivers, when the fish looks at the hook, it will go near it, poke it and then, it will bite. You'll know when it bites because it has a different sound, and the hook will go underwater!
- Once its hooked, you hold 'Right Trigger" (RCB) or 'Left Trigger' (LCB) while the Fish 'wrestles' and then you'll see a Fish in your hook, go directly to your pocket!
- Based on the value of the fish (math under the hood seeing if was junk, bones or actual fish, and then the scale and weight of the fish x the rarity of the fish and a very small % of it being 'shiny') you'll see your money number go up.
- To buy a better Rod (have better chances and different model) you go the the SHOP, you'll go into a liminal space below the island, and then if you press 'interact' to the cash register a pop up showcasing the next rod will appear. If you have the money and press 'interact' again, you'll automatically equipo the Rod (and a bug will show up where the Rod on the canvas won't stop rendering).
- There are 3 Rod Upgrades (Pro, Double Hook and Golden) and over 20 unique fishes (with LOTS of variants).
You can also interact with the NPC's with 'interact'. They'll give you hints on fishing or what kind of fish appear during nighttime, daytime, lake, rivers and sea!
Sadly, we couldn't ship the UI for any of this, nor a Pop Up showing you what you catched, and not even a single "reward" animation. We had those, but they bugged out at the last minute and didn't enter the build.
There's also no input prompts showcasing which button, nor a HUD with those in place in a static manner and not even a single pop-up image to tell you how to play (sorry).
On hindsight, we should have done the UI first and then all the crazy things no one knows we did.
We did all this in under 48 hours, which was INSANE, as we've never done a Game Jam before. (and probably never will again)
And, sorry again for not adding a 'bloom efffect' option to turn on/off, we couldn't put a single option in.
On our side it looks great! What a shame you couldn't experience it as us. (we'll update it properly once the judging is finished)
Thanks for taking the time to play it and leave a comment.
Means a lot!
