fair question! :D —he’s not supposed to be “normal” Maybe I didnt show in clearly in the short story but he’s ancient, lonely, and a little unhinged who’s been waiting in the mist for who knows how long. To him, bride means “someone who stays forever” with him. That’s the vibe I was going for. But I can see how it might come off as random without the full context!
