god, it's tough to be in Ari and Indi's heads. you can really feel how the abuse and shame and social isolation Indi's been put through has wormed its way into her worldview. and the rage Ari feels about having to be this pillar for everyone, even the woman who abused her. utterly bleak and abject... it was heartbreaking to watch their relationship corrode.

i did also appreciate the integration of child logic to the the girls' perception of what was done to them. it was dead on and sadly very natural for them to be just very confused by the situation.

i thought the visual design and background work was fantastic, the audio was produced well and very fitting, and the character sprites were very cute. a very well-rounded work!

yessss i love this read on ari!! although indi is the quasi-POV character and more sympathetic as a result, i wanted ari to have her own motivations and desires even if they're obscured. it's much more engaging to me in this story if both of them have their own reasons and desires that are gradually falling out of compatibility with each other and you just watch them dissolve. indi remembering how they reacted to the abuse as kids (in chapter 6, i believe) was a late-stage addition in response to a betaread, but im glad i did it cause it seems like people have attached to it. and im really happy with the soundtrack! it was fun to be very deliberately sketchy with it. thank you for the kind words (ill forward them to the relevant parties!) - means even more coming from you -lav
