There's lot of polish on display here for UI and menus. This is a really good entry!

As far as improvements, the wall jump felt a little sketch sometimes. I often felt like I should have gotten a jump, but fell instead. Also, because the vertical space is limited, enemies attacking from above can feel a little unfair (not enough time to react sometimes)

Thanks! I'm really glad you liked the UI and menus. I got a lot of feedback about them in previous game jams, so I kind of knew what to focus on this time.

As for the wall jump, that was a design decision. You only get one wall jump, but you have unlimited jumps when climbing over an edge. I may revisit that, though, since it seems a few people expected it to work differently.

About the enemies attacking from above, that's a fair point. I didn't have the sprites to let the player shoot vertically, so that limited the combat a bit. I may rework that by making enemies approach more from the front or behind, or maybe add some kind of auto-aim like in Earthworm Jim, which was something we had considered.

By the way, I just watched your stream. Thank you so much for streaming my game!

I noticed you forgot that once you've collected enough energy, you can heal by holding the C button. I figured I'd mention it in case you decide to give it another try. 😊

I'll add some tooltips that appear when the player's health is low to remind them they can heal.

I will end up trying at it more. There's a lot of games in this jam that I felt like I couldn't get the full experience in the 5-10 minutes I was trying to spend per game. I did forget about the heal! Maybe the tutorial could do more to express the importance of it, or maybe a small reminder popup the first few times you're at low health and no enemies nearby?

Yes, I totally understand.

Try not to skip the intro cutscene—it's a small but nice surprise for a jam game. 😊

By the way, the first thing I did today was add a reminder that appears when your health is low and you haven't healed yet. It'll be included in the update once the jam is over.
