Ophee's design is so cute! The monster designs were really cool, they make me think of the monsters in PMMD (madoka magica.) The visual design throughout was cohesive and the style was interesting.

The platforming levels felt. out of place? lacking something? They felt more like something to make the player do while the story was conveyed, rather than to show off the gameplay itself. The camera felt a little up close / tight, and the platforming never felt challenging to me, so it felt more like a chore I had to do before I was allowed to get back to the bullet-hell sections.

The bossfights were fun! I feel that the mechanic of charging while standing still felt stiff. The spider fight felt like she had far too much health, and while I quite enjoyed the fight overall, it overstayed its welcome by taking too long.

The music was pretty, I especially enjoyed the music in the crystal caves and the related boss fight.

The narrative was cute, and the little details throughout were nice to read. I went for the "no watch" ending, and was glad to see yuri save the day. I don't have the wherewithall to play through twice, though I am interested in the space-robot insects and how that ending would have played out.

I encountered a gameplay bug when entering the first bossfight; I was holding D and space, and Ophee never appeared. I tried walking around, jumping, etc, and eventually just had to save, quit, and restart.

what if it was all a dream?
