Development Update 7/17/26: The Wall Walk & Pushing into Scene 21!

The home stretch for Chapter 3 is definitely in sight. I am currently editing and rendering Scene 21 of 24, and the final climax of Chapter 3.

Right now, the pipeline is entirely focused on the northern battlements as the warning bells shatter the midnight quiet. For the visual direction of this sequence, I’m heavily leaning into my inner Ridley Scott—gritty, atmospheric blue-hour lighting, high-stakes compositions, and raw, action-heavy sequences as the family takes the field.

Working on these battle scenes got me thinking about what makes Tempest different from the majority of Adult Visual Novels out there.

A lot of AVNs tend to treat their fantasy settings and plot as a thin, convenient wrapper—just a delivery vehicle to get the player from one romance scene to the next. The world-building is often secondary, and the stakes rarely feel real because the main character is usually safe behind thick plot armor.

With Tempest, I wanted to build something different.

I wanted to create a dark fantasy world where the stakes are heavy, the political tension actually bites, and the world feels alive and dangerous. The intimacy in this novel aren't isolated pitstops; they are woven directly into the survival and development of the Main Character. When you make choices—whether aligning with a more pragmatic, dominant path or a protective, disciplined approach—it directly shifts the power balance, the way other characters view your leadership, and even how intimate encounters unfold.

Seeing the family stand together against the dark has been incredible to put together, even if the workstation is burning some serious midnight oil to bake these complex lighting setups.

Check out the teaser frames to see the defense assembling! The question is: Will everyone survive?

Have an amazing weekend and watch your Ledger!
