A short piece (1-2 min) composed and mixed for this week's Portfolio Builders Jam.
The imaginary scene: the entity you've been running from all this time has finally found you — there's nowhere left to hide.
I drew visual inspiration from a pencil drawing I found on Pinterest — a single wide eye with dark lashes, fading into black at the bottom. I'm not including the image itself since it isn't mine, but that's the mood I was chasing: something watching, unavoidable, no escape.
Structurally, the tension builds and holds through most of the piece, with the entity closing in right near the end rather than at the midpoint — it catches up to you right as you run out of time. The track cuts rather than fades, so there's no resolution, no room to breathe.
This is my first jam. I'm a sound engineer and music producer, currently moving into game audio specifically.
