Does this builder allow you to create, say, a solo character without a group? A mandatory group is of no interest.

Yes, absolutely! Here is how you can set it up:

Go to the Config section.
Check the Single Character checkbox.
Choose any class and gender for your main character. Define a fixed name and their starting attributes. Click Save.

That's it! 👍

P.S.: If you want the player to be able to choose their own class, name, and attributes at the start of the game (instead of pre-defining them), but you still don't want a party: do not check Single Character and simply set the Party Size to 1.

It was a check mark on the menu, but the game still asked me to create a squad.

Although there was a check mark on the single.

Well, that definitely shouldn't be happening. Please try these troubleshooting steps:

Remember to "Compile and Run": Any changes made to your project will only take effect if you click the "Compile and Run" button. If you just click "Run" , it will ignore your latest changes and run the last compiled version instead.
Check your version: Make sure you are running the latest version of the tool, which is 1.1.5.
Project file corruption (last resort): As a last resort—and this is just a guess—your project file might have gotten corrupted. Try creating a brand-new project and importing your assets into it.
