Being able to continue despite killing others was sort of the point of the game. This was made as part of a jam where the theme was "you are the weapon". It was an intentional inversion of the concept that you are the one that is endangered. Now it is others that are endangered and it is up to your conscience to do your best to save them. Or not. The number of entities killed in a run is your score. If you did well, you have a low score.
