I like your game, but can you please put Text Markers in the book to navigate it?.
In traits... some times i do not know what traits use to build a shonen characters, then only use the most similar i can figure to each character. Maybe you can add some examples of classic anime/shonen characters.
In progression... in general a training Arc is more a complement of any other Arc and not an Arc by it self. This made me think that, any time a character complete an Arc, also complete a Training and take one of the progression option.
About powers... How it works?
When you gain a new power, you lose it and gain a new evolved version of the same power?
Or...
you gain another version (more evolved) of a power you have AND keep the older power too?
