"Expansion" material

I bought this and went in to make mechs, and discovered that I literally cannot make the pilot I've played in all my games because apparently the Atlas is some kind of expansion thing? Which just completely blew my mind.

Are there plans/eta for adding expansion material like (I literally only care about the Atlas nothing else matters to me but the Atlas) the Atlas?

Additional question.... how on earth do you barrage? I can't see that option anywhere and it just ends my turn after I attack with two mounts.

attacking with two mounts is a barrage... I don't get what the problem is

Yeah, Atlas is from Long Rim. From the FAQ:

Are there plans to add Kobold/Lich/Orchis/Worldkiller/other non-corebook mechs?

We’re focusing on getting everything done from the core rulebook solid before looking at expansion content. We have about a year’s worth of gameplay features in the backlog first (e.g. local multiplayer, campaign modules, mod support) that we should do before tackling adding more mechanical content.

Once that’s done with, I think adding stuff from other Lancer modules would be a very very natural progression, but we’d have to clear it with Massif & see what makes sense at that point.

But lancers wait for no dev team, and unofficial mods have already made a lot of progress in hacking in new mechs. If you’re hungry for Long Rim mechs & aren’t afraid of a little technical work getting them set up, check them out!

I noticed they don't have ATLAS! but yeah, I guess I'll keep track if anyone adds atlas to that I might figure out how to install it.

Still wish I knew how to barrage, one of the basic game actions though.

Lancer Tactics uses a different activation logic that is very similar in almost all cases. There is no Skirmish or Barrage, instead you have two action points. Some things cost 1, some things cost 2. The equivalent of a barrage is firing two weapons/mounts that cost 1 action point. The primary difference this causes is that you can move in-between firing two different weapon mounts now, unlike in the base game with Barrage. You are not missing any functionality by not Barraging--you're instead gaining a slight positional advantage over the base game which you can choose not to make use of.

The other edge case that isn't covered as I understand it is that intentionally choosing to fire *only* the Aux weapon on a mount with both an Aux and a Main does not give you Bonus Damage from the Aux (if it even has bonus damage)--instead it is treated as a normal activation of the whole mount and you can simply choose not to fire the Main. I'm sure there are very niche tactics where this would make a difference but for the vast majority of builds and players this will have no impact.

If you go to the pinned FAQ post there are a few other changes from the base game mechanics you might be interested in.
