I avoided the trunk and went to a mine when i loaded the other save. When i hit an ore with the hammer it activated the dirty "tutorial" but that time the headlines disappeared afterward.
So it could be a combination of factors that made the game bug and not the dirty status itself, if you dev need any more help or detail im here to help ;)
