For anyone who's not on the Discord, they announced yesterday that they are officially discontinuing development on this.

Read between the lines. This project is basically discontinued.
Given everything we know about this project and it's history, I think we can safely say it won't continue. There hasn't been an update in a very long time, add to that the project's funding has all but dried up, and the recent statement by it's developer?
None of this translates into anything but the obvious answer, even if the dev is unwilling to officially state the the project is over.
It's sad though.
The game has a wealth of potential! It's a shame well never see it.
