ok wait cs i just had a realization
i played lane’s route first, and since i barely interacted with bb, when red showed up after the window broke and said “don’t you miss werner?” i was just confused like who the hell is werner..
then i did bb’s route and there’s that moment where bb mentions werner, the protagonist starts roasting him, and bb goes “…but that’s my name”
so now i’m sitting here thinking what if bb keeps coming back to the store because he already knew her before the game starts, but she doesn’t remember him
and red also says he knows what happened before she forgot, so maybe red knows about the memory loss, but bb doesn’t realize that’s why she treats him like a stranger
that would also make the “don’t you miss werner?” line hit differently because from red’s perspective she’s supposed to remember him but she doesn’t
also red being called red while she has such a strong fear of the color red feels like it might be intentional too
i might be overthinking it but has anyone else connected this or is it just me?
