Holy shit, that was almost one of a thing VN. Read this and felt tension creeping every passing moment. Going from bad to worse to even worse, only to getting that ending.

Simply amazingly done, you two.

That said, I wonder why people kept complaining about Crom's shrimp-y breath? I'm sorta used to it. The fact I live in a zone where seafood is very common and river shrimps are a staple food may have something to do with it :p

Spoilers, avert your eyes from here if you haven't finished LC or Scavenger:

I was actually surprised of Crom getting such a happy ending, was beautiful. Also, never I though that I would despise a "freedom fighter" as much as I got to despise Sawyer. The madman almost drove his most close supporter to imminent death, and for what I got, the overall future of his group doesn't seem very bright.

Also, after playing most of Lavender County routes, and reading the Wild King stories, I wonder. How much time passed between LC and Scavenger events? 20 years, roughly? Elisha looked like 6-7 y/o in LC, Hermes like 4 or so, and Elisha seems to be on his late 20s-early 30s, while Hermes looks early-mid 20s in Scavenger. I also wonder if Nico or Aeria met Tax at some point, specially since Hermes seems acquainted with Elisha working/living at the brothel.

Another thing that left me clueless is the city's location. Crom specifically points the chef's accent as "southerner", yet the city doesn't fit the US mainland much. Unless is one of those dystopian cyberpunk cities built on no-mans-land, like the middle of the ocean, or a unclaimed territory or the like. Or a private corporate land where no government rules apply.

See I also don't personally mind the smell of shrimp either and I think a furry fella with a bit of fish breath is actually PRETTY cute but I imagine it's not for everyone! x3

SPOILERS AS WELL

Sawyer, to me, is like the snake in the grass of a lot of progressive movements. They unfortunately attract a very specific type of narcissist who, at their core, has malignant intentions and uses liberal ideologies as, like, the "storefront" for their violence. Like in his mind, nothing he does is wrong because it's done against the "bad guys". If you suffer for his cause, if you die for it, it's for "good reason". But really, unlike the people around him who want GOOD to come from their actions, he just wants to inflict harm. His good actions like taking in Emmett or trying to groom Crom are ultimately self-serving because they get to inflict harm FOR him while he gets to reap the rewards. So you have this organization of people who want so badly to enact positive change and they can't succeed because their leader treats them more like a cult than a movement and hinders them every chance he gets.

I imagine that it does take place 20-25yrs in the future. Hermes is probably in his late 20s and Elisha is probably early 30s at this point.

That said, there is a bit of a grey area on WHERE it is exactly. Connecting the two canons was kind of a funny choice because it doesn't EXACTLY work out. LC takes place in the modern day south, whereas I had originally imagined Scavenger taking place hundreds of years in the future. Now, I guess, it technically takes place in like 2050. But I had imagined that, in anthro society, as time went on the rural areas got more rural and the urban areas got more urban. Anthros become progressively more divided over their conflicting social desires, where the urban types want to expand territory and the rural ones want to maintain their ideal environment. So what ends up happening is the cities get bigger and denser until they're, like, old Kowloon Walled City type superstructures and the rural areas become something like you'd see in 1700-1800 southern US. The rural areas still have tech, but they return to more communal style "village" agrarian living whereas the cities grow denser.

I doubt that really actually all happens in 20 years, obviously, but I guess I've boxed myself into it LMAO.

Either way, thank you so much for playing and commenting on it! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much <3

Ooooh, that quite informative, thanks! Albeit an exponential level of tech advance can be achieved in the span of 20, i get that it can be confusing when setting the lore for both scenarios and all that. Still, the city DOES look lile something that could be built over an existing settlement and grown into a urban hell on less than a decade.

Now I wonder what would Nico could think of Elisha...choice of career. Albeit he al least is probably happy his son is loved and has a comfortable enough way of living I guess.

Design wise, I have to admit that my favorite characters are Salazar and Reno. I also noted the similar, Typhlosion-like colors in both Reno and Alister and wonder a bit if they're relatives, but I think that may be overthinking it just based on their appareance.

That's KINDA how I envisioned it? Though I wish I'd given it more time to grow. But I imagine that anthros, like, being ANIMALS, don't always have the best infrastructure decision making skills. So when they get particularly dense in an area, they start to try to form territorial boundaries wherever they can. so they build on already existing structures to add to them, and it probably starts to turn Leroux into something a la Kowloon.

I do NOT think Nico was happy when Elisha first moved to Leroux. Nico's a dyed-in-the-wool ruralite, he hates cities. So one of his sons wanting to move to one of THE biggest cities in the US had him less than pleased, but I think he's an understanding father and supported Elisha just the same. I don't think he minds at all about Elisha's career, though. Hell, Nico was the same when he was younger! So I imagine he's more bothered that he's living in the city than he is about Elisha working at Rush.

Salazar is a favorite of mine as well. I've imagined he'll get expounded much more in Scav 2, whenever we have time to make that happen x3

and the idea is fun, isn't it? I do love distant threads of connection. It makes sense, after all! Alister isn't from Lavender originally, so maybe he moved from Leroux? Maybe he has a brother or sister who had a son who turned out to be Reno? ;3
