Help! Installed the new version, and the saves transfer automatically. So far, so good. But when I try to start any of the saved games, it crashes. What am I missing?
Try deleting all files (except your "saves" folder in "game") and reinstall. You should be fine. Many people make the mistake of throwing the new files over the old ones and expecting renpy not to throw errors back.
