A update from Laly!
i srsly dont understand why shes blaming herself to such a degree. there's not a lot of creators out there willing to write SO MUCH for one update. 150k words is usually the amount of an entire complete game that is usually monetised too. and its not going to kill anyone to wait more days for SO MUCH FREE CONTENT w a lot of passion gone into it too. im rlly worried for her bc this sort of work ethic might actually give her burn out. hope she takes at least a year and a half for the next update
I feel luke shes blaming herself becuase she knows many people expected it today but she knows that there are also numerous people saying it's okay! She could just feel guilty because of how many people are okay with it and that she knows people are disappointed too. I also do hope she doesn't blame herself especially since she hasn't had any real sleep and I do hope she takes a humongous break in between the next shifts.
very true, many of her fans are super supportive tbh, i just hope she doesnt have any condescending and entitled anons in her tumblr askbox bc a lot of game devs become intense people pleasers and get treated like donkeys to provide content quickly which has lead to them losing their spark and abandoning projects. i rlly dont think it matters if she goes beyond the deadline, she did write a humongous amount by herself. im genuinely in awe bc its very rare to see a dev who's this passionate abt doing a project entirely for free whilst also being super interactive with the fanbase, to give your art out like this is very beautiful. i dont want her to end up creating a toxic work environment accidentally bc its very easy to trigger that landslide when u put a lot of pressure on urself and neglect sleep for it eek
I think it's partially due to some people being really demanding and honestly rude about the game not being released. However, Laly also set an expectation of herself and it's normal to feel down when it isn't met.
I really hope she will realise that her health is WAY more important than releasing her game.
If people have to wait so be it. No one will die from the game not releasing today.
I'd rather have a later release that'll end up with the creator being happy with what they made, than a rushed game and a creator on hiatus.
