I know it might not be a glowing review- but people's experiences are probably gold right now. So I chose to do the tutorial, i eventually figured out the covered up buttons (1920/1080, reported that bug already). but on the first go, I did not put down what felt like 40 buildings in order to be able to advance to the next age. I just clubbed the npc guy and was done with it.
2nd go, I wanted the next age in the tutorial, so i hopped back in, and took the time to more carefully read everything. I was more efficient and useful about my actions, like gathering/producing. I put down the 40 buildings or whatever it was for the next age. I hit the next age button, and it took so damn long to level up. but i did it and completely the instructions in the tutorial.
For a tutorial it honestly felt like it took too many buildings and too long of a research time to me. 200 food wasn't easy either. though that might be just not knowing the mechanics yet
That's all I did- I didn't hop in to a game yet because the controls for the gatherers felt a little clunky and I like to be fresh and good and also go for a whole mission/game/ect in full. Full-on matches take lots of time and effort in an rts so i didn't do that immediately.
