We played a couple more games. And my son (he is 9) even created his own faction. Painted the cards and paper figures. It was overpowered in the beginning, but I helped him balancing it a bit :-D

I'm not a game designer, and I don't even play that many strategy board games. But one problem we faced sometimes is that we both went into defence after a couple of turns and whoever went out of defence had a disadvantage. Did you experience similar situations?

Hmm not really, then again I playtest this alot and know what each unit does by heart... Depending on the map layout they can royally screw balance tho.... That I honestly don't know how to fix... I gotta add an objective like a capture point or something on the center of the map.

Oh and I'd love to know more about the faction your son made! I'm actually working on an expansion

Good hint. The terrain might have been the problem. Probably, we created too big of a blocking area.

Most of his units have melee attacks with a special attack pattern with their swords :-)

We still have to play a couple of games to see if they are balanced. The first one is quite strong.

Tried to upload a photo here, but it didn't work. Will try later again.
