Aww that pains me to read qwq. It is true that the older version of the JOI Engine, that's published here doesn't have a data-saver option and if your connection isn't good enough it will just time out.
I'm very sorry that's happening to you. Try using a different device/location, get closer to the wifi router.
This should not be an issue in the most recent build on my patreon.
