I would buy it and I eventually may, just not the Steam version, I don't do Steam at all. I was among the first guys who had to persuade Valve staff to get rid of my account, these days it's much simpler.
Proprietary software is one thing, but necessity for a key to a lock in terms of account is another. I would really appreciate the full version here.
Anyway, great relaxing experience, my progressing age requires this more than Flatout 2 those 20 years ago. ;)
