Hi there! Thanks for your question — yes, it's actually mentioned in the game, but chatting about it won't spoil anything (wink).

The short answer is: yes, they do move a lot like snakes (or eel tails) on land — using their powerful tail muscles and belly  to slide in a wave-like motion, while their upper-body claws help with gripping and support. When they ride a wave ashore, it's more like an orca gliding onto the beach — they curl the wave first, then use its momentum to carry themselves onto the sand.

That said, Sunny and Moon actually move quite differently:

Sunnypatrols the shore often (gathering leftover human supplies from the cabin), so he's practiced a very smooth "land slither". He can move pretty fluently across the sand, and sometimes he'll even circle around you on purpose (some kind of "dance"?). But his tail is still better built for swimming, so he's a little clumsier with turns on land — which leaves small "openings" in certain chase scenes.

Also worth noting: in the cabin chapter, there's an undercurrent beneath the lake behind the door, which lets him travel conveniently from the water to the coast.

Sirens have two respiratory systems, so it's possible to spend 40 hours or more on shore, but exposure to the sun and sharp rock abrasions can still damage their skin

Moon, on the other hand, doesn't really like coming ashore. He prefers to lurk near the water's edge or in the shadows — he spends most of his time submerged. His movement is closer to "crawling" and "ambushing"; sometimes he uses his tail to wrap around objects for leverage, making his motions more cautious and hidden. If you pay close attention to the darker corners during the cabin segment, you might get a faint sense of that "slithering-along-the-ground" texture.

Keep playing — you've got this! I won't spoil anything further for you. 😉
