Later on in the 90's Warren Ellis, Garth Ennis and Mark Millar took the EXTREME super concepts to the next level...they added GOOD WRITING! StormWatch by Ellis is top notch superhero storytelling.

i was just talking the other day about how mark millar is a good writer who often self-sabotages his own work by putting shock value slop in it

stormwatch was so good, it really did herald that golden age of comics when the writers became the selling point for comics.

Yeah of the three he tended to EXTREME! the plot over character moments, Ellis IMO was the best of the three when he put his mind to it, I was sad to see his behavior during this period was typical Rock Star and that came to bite him in the ass.
