Pyrena might be the most stylish entry of the May Wolf 2026 jam - the art style in of itself calls on Night In The Woods, which makes a lot of sense as the narrative is what I'd call a Night In The Woods-like. But it's absolutely full of animations that support the storytelling by filling in any gaps its curt writing would leave for action sequences. Structurally, it keeps to nothing but the necessary scenes, doling out just enough information for the player to piece together the events and allowing for imagining what happens before and in-between. And despite the brevity, I still felt the connection between Bird and Harper, along with the matter-of-factly protectiveness Martin has of his employees (only valid business owner).
The only thing I felt was a bit weaker than the rest, for rating purposes, is the theme implementation. It's somewhat in the background, and not even the climax plays into the supposed premise going along with the folklore presented that much. (This doesn't matter outside the jam context of course, how it is works!)
