Mars from Yarn Spinner here, and I’m fairly certain I’ll know what your text speed issue is. Most people assume that the way they set the speed initially in the inspector on the LinePresenter is the same property they need to access to modify it later, but by then that value has just been used to initialize a typewriter object that’s now managing its own speed. So to change speed at runtime, you need to access that LetterTypewriter’s CharactersPerSecond (or the WordTypewriter’s WordsPerSecond) directly. That change will then be applied from the next line onwards.

Hope that helps! :)

I’ve also flagged this internally as you’re the second person to have this issue recently, so we’re thinking the current design is counter-intuitive. So we’re discussing changing the default behaviour (the Typewriter objects would then always listen for any changes to their parent Presenter’s settings and update accordingly).

Hii!! Programmer for this project here. Thanks for popping in!

In our latest hotfix we finally managed to resolve this issue in the way you described by making a custom typewriter that checks during the prepare line phase if the characters per second speed has been updated in the settings.

I've been loving working with Yarnspinner so far. o((>ω< ))o

Thank you for your hard work!
