I'm a horror game content creator, instead of being like other people and just commenting "great game" as an excuse that actually means "watch my video" I'm going to give you my real honest take from someone that LOVES playing indie horror games on itch.io and game jolt.
i am an extremely sensitive person, i tend to cry or scream really easily at horror games or anything scary. my nervous system gets fried really fast. I'm not trying to be mean but I've seen other games that genuinely terrified me with the same pixel graphics. I'm going start with the good I LOVE the atmosphere i think the setting is the best thing. I've never seen it anywhere else. it's really good. but the cons are that the jump scares i HARDLY noticed them, and i would hear the "scare sound" i only flinched once. the tasks felt like a "chore" more than something i had fun doing, i never got scared at the "extra footsteps" i would hear or things falling down, they felt more cliche' than anything. the plot twist didn't feel "crazy" either. i hope that my criticism gets you inspired by something to actually scare. since you have the potential to be great this is just my honest take.
