I've been playing free RPG Maker games (non RTP especially) because I also make them. And I have to say, this one is a very cute little one. Not too complex, not too simple, art is charming, meta story starts a little slow but grew on me, I love bonus rooms. I must say I did cheat a little, I'm very thankful for the bonus hints. I did get a few of those on my own, but it helped in getting the rest. I love the blue too.
This is a very good first project. Mine was RTP and improvised comedy with just a few CGs, this one must have taken a lot more effort. And speaking of CGs, I'm a fan of your CGs more than your sprites, your style is very beautiful. I hope you make more games! I personally really like games about exploration and reading stories (gameplay who?), and I'm very glad this isn't a horror game (I'm too weak for that). It has a few slightly creepy moments, but nothing sudden, nothing loud. Oh and the music is original? That's impressive! I liked it a lot, I also made my own music for my last game (while suffering) but I'm not that good.
If I have to offer a little criticism: I think you should find a way to include the font inside the game. I don't use VX Ace so I can't tell you the method, but I know it's possible (SLARPG does it). If that's not possible, I think adding a big, non-missable warning inside the game, at the beginning, would be better than in the game description or a readme file. I know this is absolutely my fault, lol, since I downloaded the game, forgot about whatever was written in this itch page and played it days later, but I think you could fool-proof it a little more. As I can see, someone in the comments below also had this problem, haha.
Other than that, I think sprites would benefit from bobbing up and down a pixel when they walk. But I don't think I would have changed anything else.
By the way, in my silly RTP game, my protagonist is called Mary Claire (or Mari Carmen in the original version) because she's the MC. So "who would name their Main Character that?" Me. And you. 🤝
This is too long already, sorry for the wall of text. In summary: nice. Will wait for more. Cheers
