I do agree that health issues don't add much besides flavor text in game, but the idea of a "bad end" for girls it's a little bit morbid for the game. Maybe having consequences for not treating illnesses might be better option, like if  they aren't giving their meds they became uncomfortable and less likely to eat. Or in more extreme illnesses they start losing weight. 

Of course it will depends on Taylor how far they would like to take the health system.
