I can't click the key or press e on it either. I tried pretty much every key on my keyboard as well.
You say that in the book, right? You have to zoom in with the mouse wheel; try zooming in and you'll be able to!
My scroll wheel is broken unfortunately. If you were to update so you can also use arrow keys to zoom in and out then that'd work, but idk about an entire update being made just for me lol.
Ended up digging up an old mouse with a working wheel, and I was able to get the key out of the book!
