the creator is probably still taking their time to polish off the script. Anyway, they want to give us the best and as the saying goes great things take great time.
Neko has confirmed finishing the script, and is currently working on coding everything. But that can also take time itself, plus testing to see if something breaks or not. Their Patreon has more active updates.
That's how it goes on Itch, I'm afraid. Sometimes games get abandoned (looking at you, TKATB) so we should be happy that this one's looking like it'll be completed. I do wish devs would make more "hey, this is still happening!" type posts, though.
