The visuals are striking! But it's hard to not compare it to Bacons Revenge. The new mechanic of the axe returning and doing damage on the way is not as involved as having to navigate towards the axe and weave through enemies. As it stands, with perfect timing, there is little incentive to move (which is what the eyeballs are for in the later levels). It would also be nice if the player had a longer time of invincibility and the enemies have little to none. It is very easy to lose all your health in one go. I hope you take my feedback the right way, I realize that it's not very actionable. Again, great would on the pixel art
