There are funny jokes. The characters have personality to them. Wonder, in particular, is fun to hate on as a cynical sourpuss whose bad experience at the bar is partially self-inflicted since he goes during slow hours and then comments about the lack of people in it. The awkwardness of “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do” and tension between going to a gay bar—presumably to talk to people—and then making eye contact and not wanting to talk to people is relatable and adds depth.
Music and visuals don’t stand out, but are appropriate to the scene.
My expectations were (mis)informed by thinking that there was going to be a fourth speaker eventually, but I think I would have been caught off-guard by the ending regardless. Wonder has something of an arc in the story if I squint, but it’s not very clear except for explicit narration about what he thinks of the experience afterwards, and even then I’m not left with much of an impression on how this experience has changed him. I suppose his horizons have been broadened.
I suspect that as with RIP Me, the theme was disregarded. I’m a little disappointed about that, but I’m not going to be mad that someone made and submitted something for May Wolf. It’s a fun jam entry and I feel like the developer had a fun time making it.
