Well, there are several references to Brazil in the game, such as candied apples and brigadeiro (a Brazilian chocolate fudge), and I'm almost certain the creator has already mentioned that everyone is Brazilian in a Q&A on Tumblr.

go to the tent with Harlequin and don't slap him then continue like normal and then chose that you need space when pierrot asks (just what I did)
