i'll try to be as vague as possible to avoid spoilers. marchen line is a wonderful read. i think it's a perfectly contained story that does a lot to keep your imagination at bay by slowly, just barely feeding you bits of information. the world building is charming, and i think the game says exactly what it wants and needs to. i think keeping in mind this game was created in a month, and is in fact, a visual novel, is imperative to playing and thoroughly enjoying marchen line. admittedly it does feel like the first half of the game rushes to 'get to the point', but once it's there, it's impossible to not be completely enraptured in it. the dialogue is fun, the scenes descriptive, and the way the game lays out all of its cards in front of you towards the end is almost kind of tantalizing. i could see myself playing this again sometime, which i hardly ever feel the need to do with games as short as this one is, but i think some scenes and characters are honestly worth revisiting. overall, this was a really wonderful way to spend some time, and i urge anyone reading who hasn't done so yet to do it already!
