In this school we hire coaches but don't bother telling them where to find the courts.  You gotta ask another coach, and he's gonna strongly advise you stay away from the team you just told him you were coaching, and actually act surprised when you don't immediately resign like "basketball coach said they were bad news 4 times in one convo, so I'm out."

What would you do in that situation? You fucked up life and you're trying to get back to your own two feet, sure ppl tried to help you, but would you really accept that help if you lost the only thing that gave you purpose? The only thing that defined who you are? It's easy to say that if you're not in their place. My dude was trying his best to change and that school gave him an opportunity, one last opportunity to change his life so fuck yeah even if they're complete assholes or bad news if I were him I'd still do it. He lost everything so why not try he won't lose shit.(About the part about coaches yeah idk maybe dev forgot or just another plot point so we could meet that absolute Chad of a coach)

What are you talking about? I was talking about how silly it is that the dean hired a coach and put all this BS on his shoulders, then didn't bother to tell him where the f--king volleyball court is.  I am talking about how nobody at any job would see the new guy and say "hey, you should quit immediately",  not only bc that's stupidly unprofessional, but because you don't know if that person is a snitch or not.  Talking about the basketball coach. Then he sees him a literal day later and says "you're still here" like he assumed he'd just trust him implicitly and clean out the desk he couldn't find.

I am not talking about the MCs motivations, which are pretty obvious.  This is about the whole "you'll go here as a student and also be a coach and I really like you but you're fired if you mess up, and I'll offer no help" mentality of the Dean.
