...How (and more imporantly why) are you even still using an operating system that was phased out over 20 years ago?! I mean, do you even have the faintest idea of how extremely high of a security risk it is to even connect something that old to the internet to begin with?!

Edit: Also, late reply because I've been having my LC exams, still more to go next week too.

(FYI: Sorry if I rant, not all of us are.. so fortunate, so this is just honesty on my part, nothing but the truth)

Honestly? The 'how' is through LegacyUpdate and Supermium (a browser built to support older legacy devices with 32-bit armature). The why is because having a modern laptop (that'll likely break down in a matter of two years or less, then get completely rejected for repairs ((thanks MSI for being the worst computer company ever)) and say that 'oh we don't have that computer part anymore' which is absolute bs considering they manufacture those laptops by the millisecond, it's just completely unaffordable. Someone tell me *WHY* a old macbook on xp from like 2013 is more reliable than a 1,000 euro waste of money? Huh? (Not being aggressive to you, this just financially hurt my family and myself, still is a big sore as well- on top of the fact that in Ireland, there is no such thing as 'salemtechsperts' nor 'gaming laptop repair shops', so I'm kind of y'know, COMPLETELY SCREWED).

Reasons why are because it's an easy and actually reliable operating system (Experience with Win10/11 have also been just plain-out bad). Yes it's old, yes it's a security risk. I do have an idea, I've checked it out entirely myself, but I've accepted those risks because.. Money. Simply put. I don't have a job, I'll be getting one in a year after my Leaving Certificate then my further education Security Course (Aka 'Post Leaving Certificate/PLC' course). I just don't care about the risk. I cannot afford to simply 'buy a new laptop every year' when one breaks. I am angry at tech companies, disgruntled even, and hope to gods that the EU can put the right to repair laws into full effect, that's why (Not getting political here, it's just genuinely how I feel).
