Hello Arham, first of all Happy Birthday! :)) I just played your game and was very impressed, especially to do something like this in just 9 days and at your age! I loved the graphics, a very nice atmosphere with the music and the story you managed to create about the well and coin. Impressive that it is your artwork, you are very skilled, and the intro was really graphically top. What I enjoyed in the gameplay the most was the animation of the coin. The squash and stretch of it felt as if it was almost alive; I kept playing just to see how it was landing and jumping around ;))

As I promised I will try to give you as well some little feedback that hopefully will be helpful. But I do realize that many of us, if we had more time, we would fine-tune our games more. So already as it is, it is a great game for this JAM!!! GreatJob!

Here are my notes:

  • I liked that the coin stuck to the edges once it landed, so it did not fall down. However, when I tried to jump up, sometimes it felt as if it collided with a collision mask that I was expecting to be smaller, so that I could pass through. If the coin could stick to the edge already when it was going from the bottom maybe?
  • I was not sure why the coin was changing to the silver and to the gold one. I think it had something to do with the strength of the jump afterwards? Also, I did not manage to make tiny jumps, which would be helpful in some situations to move around more precisely.

Before I give you a rating, I would like to try the game more times, to finish it; I just could not pass one place. Maybe you can help me. I have a screenshot. I always got killed there and had to try again. When I jump on the leaf, it just directly pushed me towards the killer platform.  I never managed to lend on the yellow dots I made for you here to see the situation... I always landed on the leaf and it got me to the big teeth :DD

Thnx so muxh for playing my game. loved the feedback. The coin turning gold and silver happens when you release after dragging. while dragging if you notice there is a bar on the top and it it stops on gold then the coin will turn gold. For the lily pad you'll notice that the leaves are gold so it only bounces you when you turn gold . so in the spike part the solution is actually to land as silver so it doesnt launch you into the spikes. I was unable to cook up a tutorial due to time but will keep in mind next time forsure,. Thanxs for such a great and detailed feedback. Believe it or not this the best birthday gift. Thank you <3.

Ooo,  that actually brought tears to my eyes, I am so glad the comment made you happy :)) ! Here in this community we do understand how much effort and love is put behind and I am really happy that the feedback was helpful to you :)) And you know, thanks to your replay I managed to get through the teeth ;) And everything made even more sense about the coin and the game´s name: Heads Or Tails!

Maybe you could write those instructions under your game description. Sometimes people do it if they didn´t have time to include it in the game during the JAM. I read those instructions on other games and it can be helpful to navigate some games, especially those that have special new features :)) I really like the idea of your game, enjoyed it more than I would expect and I am glad that I posted in the Community section and found your gem ;)

I will send you a printscreen of up to where did I managed to get ;) I tried 3 times to jump up there but was not able to... But what I can say is that it was great that I did not fall to the complete bottom where was the start of the game. That was a big plus, that encouraged me to continue playing and trying :)) Here is the printscreen: you can see that I tried to get as much as possible to the corner of that rock :DD

Yes see again this was my mistake for not explaining the mechanics. IN that part you need to screen warp to the other side like in pacman. Yes i would definitely include the instructions in my page now. Really good to see that you got to level 2 out of 3. Thnx again for writing such a detailed feedback. couldnt be more greateful :
