Wow, I just found out today that these aren’t animations but an actual game. Great work! Here are some suggestions:

  • Add Fang as a playable character
  • Add Metal Sonic, Metal Knux, and Tails Doll as playable characters
  • Add a game mode that requires player control, along with its local multiplayer version
  • Add ports for Windows and Linux
  • Add small gimmicks such as:
    • Green Hill rocks: basically act like an Eggman monitor, but when broken, the fragments would fall across the stage and could affect others
    • Water: a match modifier that, starting at a certain level, slows down characters unless they have a bubble shield
    • Hydro City bubbles: lift the player to the top of the screen, though they cannot be used by those with a water elemental shield
    • Lava: placed at the bottom of the stage as a match modifier, where other characters could push someone into it, causing constant damage
  • Add rings throughout the field: basically the same function as in the games, nothing else to say here
  • Add a “Death Egg collapse” modifier: in this modifier, as the name suggests, it would be set in the Death Egg stage, where blocks would fall and the player must dodge them, or destroy them on contact if they have an electric/fire shield. If a block falls on a character, they would receive continuous damage until the block leaves the character’s hitbox and reaches the ground

That's right, it was never an animation :) Those are good ideas. I try not to overcomplicate what should be simple, but I'm adding things little by little. I want to add water, but it'll take me some time to implement a color palette system :) After that, I'll finally add Super Mode.
