Personally, I'd just start a new game in a separate save. That's what I did to test the multiple paths. And yeah, I do recommend it, giving birth to Holoryx babies was a wholesome experience, lol.
You need to hire the medics in Nova Nexus (they can appear after leaving New Life) then you need to talk with them on the ship and start the Yaeldr uterus quest.
I see as I manage to get the medics into my ship and had a conversation about it but I don't have the quest triggered. I did even try to talk to sammuel.
Be advised that everytime you go to akra / the club (I can't remember well) an interaction with him will trigger, until you earn the money for the quest. It's pretty annoying, not sure if it's a bug or an oversight from the developers.
