Wait I'm confused. Restoring isn't supposed to work before you get equipment from the shop. You'll be reminded that you have to go to the blacksmith and armor shop before you can restore yourself. have you do that?
I click restore and the little pop-up menu closes, nothing more. still an elf
Have you try go up again to the armor shop after that to see if the place had been unlocked?
