First I want to say - this game is amazing. You can tell you poured a lot of love and effort into it. The dialogue, the art, the music. I love all of it.
There is just one minor critique. And I say this with every ounce of love in my soul - as I hate when people just come at me with negative comments.
But please replace the grey insert character.
And before I get all the hate comments pouring forth - again I say this in as a constructive and positive a way as possible....see dissertation below. This is coming from a stand point as an editor and to lift your spirits.
Artists and creators are not required to represent every single demographic in their works.
I am going to copy and paste my response to an aggressive post on another game about not including additional MC options in an already inclusive game. I may come across as a little aggressive as well but this was directed at the person posting....not you!....
_______
"My demographic is extremely limiting and I would just simply rather have a cohesive and complete story rather than a watered down representation I don't need or want in the media I enjoy.
There is a reason that much loved games (art, books videos, etc) don't include the generic bald gray Cryptid creature in their their creations. When you try to include everyone, you end up including no one. All it does is just disenfranchise every single person because you've included a "deleted" human being with no features and no character whatsoever. It's not a self-insert. It's a half baked, insubstantial non human creature thing with no substance and watered down to the point that nothing makes it special. It looks unfinished, unpolished and disturbing. And it instantly takes you out of the world that the creator spent so much time building.
(I am using the standard self insert creature as an example but the result is the same when trying to provide too many options to the player.)
Creators have the right to pick someone (or a few LIMITED someones) to represent in their games or books or videos and roll with it. Gay, straight, trans, Irish, Japanese, Aboriginal - just pick one and stick with it.
It's expensive and completely unrealistic to ask creators to include demographics from every single person that could possibly be represented. In the end it just ends up hurting small creators.
I am always wondering what they wanted to create before being pressured into making design decisions they didn't originally want to go with. What was their original design and dream for this game. We are here for their vision. And I I wish they didn't have to change for us due to pressure. I feel jipped when I think about what 'could have been'.

Visual novels also give the creators the unique opportunity to immediately grab their audiences attention with art - unlike books which are limited to just vocabulary. So use this! Giving a character unique characteristics may take away from the self insert, but it adds to the story you are weaving - into something memorable and vivid. Expressions on the characters' face for instance are critical to what they are feeling in the moment - fear, anger, passion, joy...by removing this from the MC you're taking away from an emotional experience that the reader/player could have had otherwise."
Sorry for the length, I just feel very strongly about this. Much love and keep up the good work!
