This is an interpretation of the classic horror game mechanic of collecting things whilst avoiding a shadowy enemy that is ready to burst from the darkness at any time. For a game developed by a new developer in a short timeframe you definitely have a handle on the formula! I like how you've rigged the lighting to have a very extreme contrast and limited view distance to ramp up the eerie atmosphere. The inclusion of some backstory also helps give a bit of context to the action too.

In order to improve this approach, I think in future some things you can do to fine-tune a game like this is design the world with a little less repetition of assets, so players can get their bearings better. Also, the monster is much scarier when the player knows it's near but not sure how near, which can be achieved through some better pathfinding and sound design. These might help make it awesome! \

Thanks for submitting Deadly Profit to the SCREAM LITE jam!

Thanks so much for the feedback

The game's intent was more to familiarize myself a bit with the engine in a jam and after that to take a few weeks and try to make an actual game
