Just finished playing the game, after I played it gradually over the course of two months. Without a doubt it is now in my top list of favourite games of all time, which is a big deal considering that I have been playing video games since the 1980s!
I went into the game not knowing anything about it, but I was simply blown away by the entire thing from beginning to end. The worldbuilding, character development, story, visuals, music and sound design, moral and ethical dilemmas, and many other things about it are all top notch.
Some constructive criticism: there were occasional spelling mistakes here and there, as well as some sentence structure errors, usually a word was missing, but they were rare.
The worldbuilding was extensive, and it feels like the game is a very strong start for an entire series of games. I can see a lot of different possible avenues to explore in subsequent games, with many possible questions in Soulcreek being left unanswered, but in a positive way.
I think that to do the worldbuilding of Soulcreek any justice, the series requires at least a trilogy of games to scratch the surface of the game's world. I was happy to see that at least one sequel, Voidsong, is currently in development.
To conclude, very well done on what I consider to be an A+ game, and I look forward to the continued development of the series. Best of luck for the development of Voidsong, I am very excited to see the game's release once it is finished.
