I think using AI for code is better if you already know how to code. Personally, I use it for things like tedious getter methods in a database class. I know I can type it all out myself, but it's easy to ask AI to provide the functions for me to save time. If you know how to direct code and ask specifically for the right way to do things, it can be helpful for sure. If you've no idea what you're doing at all, then you'll just get handed slop and have no idea what to do with it.
