You're heading in the right direction, brother. This has been an issue for a long time for two groups of players. Of course, you might lose some players who genuinely dislike this kind of content, but you'll also gain a new audience in return.

Games where every ending is always happy are just too boring. If the player chooses those paths and decides to do terrible things to their girl, yet still expects a happy ending, that makes no sense. As long as the choices and consequences feel reasonable, the game will come out much more complete.

Don’t lose confidence in your vision. The fact that people are reacting strongly to your work means it has impact. Not every player will like every direction, and that’s completely normal. What matters most is staying true to the experience you want to create.

Because of people like you, the game will become shit.

Keep an open mind,  There are many great games out there once you truly give them a chance. These kinds of stories affect players emotionally because they involve characters you become attached to. That’s why bad endings should feel meaningful, especially if you truly understand the characters you’re playing.

Unless you want a “safe mode” where every choice magically leads to sunshine and happy endings.

Look at the story carefully from the beginning up to now   ,so many terrible things have already happened, yet your characters still made it this far. So what, protecting your character long enough to reach a happy ending is impossible now?

Then what’s even the point of the protagonist having time-rewind powers? It’s basically the same thing as the player having a “SAVE” function. If you manage to overcome all these hardships, that’s what makes it a true happy ending.
